For students in UK higher education.

DSA covers assistive technology for eligible students with a disability or condition that affects how they study. TalkType is a recognised tool within DSA, and can be recommended by a needs assessor as part of a student's support package.

What to expect

What does the funding process actually look like?

It's simpler than it sounds. The typical process looks like this:

1. Check your eligibility

Speak to your university's disability support team, your employer's HR or occupational health team, or contact us and we'll help point you in the right direction.

2. Book a needs assessment

A needs assessor will talk through the challenges you're experiencing and identify the tools that could help. This is where TalkType can be recommended.

3. Funding is approved

Once your assessment is complete and funding is approved, TalkType is covered. You get full access at no cost to you.

Already in the process?

If you've already had a needs assessment and TalkType has been recommended, or you want to share more information with your assessor, you can download our justification guides below.
