Removing typing barriers at work with TalkType

Typing challenges caused by multiple sclerosis

As a primary school teacher, Millie spends much of her day preparing lesson plans, writing up pupil notes, and communicating via email. But over time, her medical condition began to make this part of her job increasingly difficult. Therefore, Millie needed an accessible way to manage her workload without the physical strain of typing.

“Due to my medical condition (multiple sclerosis), typing had become an issue due to muscle control in my hands and fatigue,” Millie explains. “TalkType was suggested to me as a tool that would remove the challenges of typing altogether.”

TalkType removes typing barriers for Millie

After receiving TalkType, Millie immediately began using the software in her daily tasks. She now uses speech-to-text to complete lesson planning, send emails, and create documents, all without the physical strain of typing.

One of the biggest benefits for Millie is how seamlessly TalkType works with the tools she already uses, like Google Drive, Docs, and Gmail. The software not only reduced her typing errors but also allowed her to complete written tasks more efficiently and with greater comfort.

Simple to learn and easy to use

Millie found the setup of TalkType and the training process straightforward from the start.

“It’s a very easy system to get the hang of,” she shared with us. During her initial 1:1 training session, she learned how to adapt the software to her individual needs and work style. This personalised approach made the transition smooth and gave her the confidence to use TalkType independently right away.

Boosting productivity and reducing fatigue

Since using TalkType, Millie has been able to manage her workload more efficiently and with less physical effort. Dictating her work allows her to complete tasks faster, reducing fatigue and freeing up time for her teaching responsibilities. “Thanks to TalkType, I am able to get more done within a given time period,” she explains.

The ability to use TalkType across multiple devices, including her laptop, iPad, and phone, has given her the flexibility to work wherever she needs to, whether in the classroom or at home.

Millie recommends TalkType

For anyone experiencing similar challenges with typing or fatigue at work, Millie is clear in her recommendation.

“Yes, I would 100% recommend it,” she says. “Even to people who aren’t good with technology, it’s still very simple and easy to use.”

Thanks to TalkType, Millie has been able to continue performing her role effectively without the physical barriers caused by her condition. Our dictation tool enables her to work comfortably and productively, maintaining her independence and focus on what matters most—teaching her students.

I would recommend TalkType to all people who struggle with writing as a great starting point.
